We just created this blog to share a little bit about our story.
We suffered a great lost on December 25th, 2019, when a tragic accident took the life of our precious boy Joshua.
Joshua was born on a beautiful, hot and sunny Father's Day, on the Saturday evening of June 20th, 2009. We prayed for him for five years and God granted us this beautiful boy right on Father's day!. He gave us Joshua as a gift on Father's Day and He took His gift back on Christmas Day.
But we attempt to look every event in our lives with a powerful lens. This lens, filter how we see things. This lens which is not an imaginary lens, or a "crutch" to help us to go through the pain of missing him. Not at all! This lens represents our core beliefs that have sustained us many times on different moments of our lives.
These core beliefs remind us that God is Sovereign, He is God. That God is Love, everything He does is out of love. That He is wise and knows the past, present and future of each life. That God determines the length of each life and that each life is complete, not matter how long or short this life was on this earth.
And like the title of this blog, we Trust Him!
We see God as a loving Father holding us as premature babies, protecting us from the sorrows of this imperfect world. We see God as a loving parent, hugging His crying toddler, that cries because he can't understand why things happen the way they do.
Bryan and I cry, we ask many times Why? We hurt, but we Trust Him.
Since day one, after the accident, the Word we kept hearing (reading) was: " TRUST ME!"
"I am God, the Creator of the Universe, I have control of every detail of your lives.
I know your pain. I saw my Only Son being tortured and killed.
I love you. I love Joshua more than you will be capable of.
It is not your job to understand what I am doing or why. Your job is just to Trust Me".
Also, our core beliefs remind us that we will see our Joshua again.
The Hope of the Resurrection - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have fallen asleep; so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.
For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died in Christ will rise from their graves.
Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
So encourage each other with these words.
Dear Joshua, "mi corazon de melon", we will see you again soon! ....
What a great reunion when Jesus returns!
